Bajrangi Bhaijaan nails BO mints 102.6 crore in 3 days

Date:

Salman Khan has yet again proved that he is the king of box office. His latest release ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ has not just won the hearts of the audiences, but the entertainer has also set the box office on fire.

After getting a fabulous response on Friday, the Kabir Khan-directed film has minted Rs 102.60 crore in its opening weekend.

Where most films take weeks to earn 100 crore, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ has earned it in a single weekend. This is Bhaijaan’s eighth film which has crossed 100-crore mark.

‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ has garnered critical applause as well as won the hearts of the audience with it’s simple storyline and different avatar of Salman Khan, and proved to be the best ‘Eidi’ (Special gift) one could ever expect of.

Comparison:

Although, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ trails behind multi-lingual flick Baahubali – which has minted Rs 300 crores so far – yet, earning over 100 crore in 3 days is an achievement in itself.

However, Bajrangi Bhaijaan has broken the other Khans’ record, as well his own record, making its 100 crore quicker than Aamir’s ‘PK’ and Shah Rukh’s ‘Happy New Year’, both of which stopped just short of the finish line in the first weekend.

‘PK’ is currently Bollywood’s biggest earner at home and abroad.

Salman’s biggest film so far has been ‘Kick’ which minted Rs 231.85 crore and raked in 25 crore on first day. But ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ even breaks this record as its opening day collection was Rs 27.25 crore.

About the film:

The film touches upon the sensitive topic of Indo-Pak relations while telling the story of a mute Pakistani girl who gets lost in India.

Pavan Kumar Chaturvedi aka Sallu Bhai takes the girl to her home in Pakistan and this gives rise to various hilarious, as well as emotional moments, in the film.

‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
