S S Negi Appointed As DG Forests

New Delhi: Senior IFoS officer S S Negi has been appointed as Director General (Forests) and Special Secretary in Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change.

Negi, a 1980 batch Indian Forest Service (IFoS) officer of Himachal Pradesh cadre, will replace S S Garbyal who retires on July 31, the order said.

He is presently working as Additional Director General (Forests) in the Ministry.

In another order, Health and Family Welfare Secretary Bhanu Pratap Sharma was today given additional charge of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Chairperson, for three months.

Sharma, a 1981 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre, will hold the additional charge for three months beyond July 3 or till the appointment of a regular incumbent, an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said.
