51-year-old music composer Aadesh Srivastava lost his fight against cancer, despite getting cured the first two times. He was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Andheri.
Mumbai: Music composer Aadesh Shrivastava who was battling cancer passed away post midnight.
He was 51.
Aadesh had been in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Andheri for over 40 days for cancer treatment.
“Mr Aadesh Shrivastava 51 years old expired at 12.30 am on 5th September 2015 in Kokilaben Hospital due to cancer,” Dr Ram Narain of Kokilaben Hospital said.
Last evening, Aadesh’s brother-in-law and composer Lalit Pandit said, “He has been undergoing chemotherapy but he is not responding to it. So, the doctors have stopped giving him chemotherapy. They have an alternate theory. The doctors are trying to do their best and Aadesh is fighting it bravely.”
Aadesh, whose cancer relapsed for the third time, received an outpouring of support from Bollywood including Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who visited him at the hospital on Tuesday (September 2).
Producer Ramesh Taurani, Shekhar Kapur, Suchitra Krishnamoorthy, Poonam Dhillon, Anu Malik, Jaspinder Narula and Abhijeet had also dropped in to visit the singer.
Aadesh had been diagnosed with cancer five years ago. In an interview, it was revealed that the singer altered his lifestyle after his first diagnosis in 2011 and started practicing yoga. Although he was not into smoking but due to this he also quit his drinking. Due to his bad health and heavy medical bills, he was buried with financial problems due to which Aadesh apparently had to sell his hummer in order to get things back on track.
Aadesh has composed music for films like “Chalte Chalte”, “Baabul”, “Baghban”, “Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham”, “Rajneeti” and others.
His body is being kept at Kokilaben hospital as of now. The funeral will take place on Saturday at 12:30 pm at Oshiwara Crematorium, Andheri West.
