Babul Supriyo has made good use of his Bollywood connections in the run-up to the first anniversary of the Swachh Bharat campaign.
The MoS for Urban Development and Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation has roped in singers such as Shaan, Shreya Ghoshal, Kailash Kher, Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik to lend their voice to the Mission Anthem, written by Prasoon Joshi & composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt has been entrusted with the making of a Smart Video where the Star-Power of Bollywood is going to woo the country towards making Swachh Bharat Mission a ‘Jan Andolan’. On the 26th of October, Cricketing Icon Sachin Tendulkar made his own unique contribution towards the endeavour – he, for the first time, recited lines that will specially feature in the Anthem.
“He was not only was very gracious & to readily agree to feature in the song but was also extremely sporting to agree to Recite in the song when I spelled the idea to him on the phone. He spent 5 long hours in a studio in Mumbai on the 26th to meticulously execute that to perfection & even surprised everyone with his Musical suggestions. We are delighted with the outcome” said Supriyo when asked.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to release the Audio of the song on the Eve of Mahatma Gandhi’s Birthday on the 2nd of October. Supriyo says the project is crafted along the lines of Mile Sur Mera Tumhara & the video of the song, which will feature several Bollywood Biggies, will be released separately around Diwali.
