Som defends himself, says case should be registered against Rahul, Kejriwal

Date:

Som was already under the scanner for for violating provisions of Section 144 and addressing public meetings during their visits to the village.

Meerut: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sangeet Som, who has been accused of violating prohibitory orders during his visit to Bishada village in Dadri, on Wednesday said that case should be registered against Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, BSP leader Nasimuddin Siddiqui, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as they had met the victims’ family before him.

“I am not aware of any such case. If they are initiating a case then it is fine but before me the case should be registered against Rahul Gandhi, Nasimuddin Siddiqui, Owaisi and Arvind Kejriwal. They all went there before me. Is it wrong to visit someone to express condolences? Is there a prohibition on BJP leaders from visiting?” Som told ANI.

The Dadri Police had recommended that a case be lodged against Minister of State for Culture Mahesh Sharma, BJP leader Sangeet Som and BSP leader Nasimuddin Siddiqui for violating provisions of Section 144 and addressing public meetings during their visits to the village.

Last week, a 50-year-old man was beaten to death in Bishada village for allegedly storing beef at his residence.
