Arunachal Weightlifter Clinch 4 Gold

According to Northeast Today, ace weightlifter ‎Jimjang Deru‬ has again made the nation proud by clinching four Gold medals on the first day of the ‪#Common Wealth Weight lifting Championship being held at Pune on Monday.

Deru created four Commonwealth records at the event in both Sub-Junior and junior sections.

Taking part in the Snatch section of the competition, Deru had created three consecutive records at a time by lifting 100, 104 and 107 Kgs, and made another record in Clean & Jerk by lifting 140 Kgs. With this achievement, Jimjang Deru becomes the first Indian to attain the feat.

While in the senior section of the Championship, Deru won Silver medal for India.
