Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos becomes 3rd richest in US, 5th worldwide

Profit numbers at Amazon has shot off the roof this year and is expected to pass the $100 million profit, making it the only company to achieve that so fast.

Just 21-years-old by the looks of it, Amazon is definitely making heads turn.

According to Bloomberg news, Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO, Amazon is now the third richest in the USA and fifth worldwide.

Bezos’s (51) net worth is up by 20 places since January 1, 2015. This not only means that he added another $5 billion to his fortune after closing on Thursday but also that his net worth now is over $55 Billion (Bloomberg Billionaires Index).

The report said a 77% increase was observed in Bezos’ fortune in 2015 even before Thursday’s after-hours trading. The e-commerce retail business giant Amazon’s shares surged 10% to $621 at 4:47 pm since close on the NYSE.

Bezos has surpassed Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and Google’s Larry Page and Sergey Brin with his 2015 worth so far by adding a whopping $22 billion in the last 10 months.

While internet entrepreneurs are seeing a rise in fortunes, Alice, Chrity and Robert Walton of the Wal-mart family have become the worst-performing billionaires so far this year according to the report. They have dropped a combined $43 billion.
