Ghaziabad: Police have arrested two persons for allegedly duping MBBS aspirants of crores of rupees on the pretext of getting them a seat in various medical colleges in Modinagar here, police said on Monday.

The two fraudsters, engaged in running an inter-state racket, have been identified as Rajnesh and Brajesh, both residents of Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh.

The duo, from whom police recovered various fake IDs, 25 mobile handsets, one tablet and a dozen SIM cards, have allegedly cheated more than 50 people from different states including Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Gujarat and Mumbai.

According to SHO Deepak Sharma, the arrested duo will be further questioned at Modinagar by police officials from Gujarat and other states.
