Ruling BJP lists its achievements in Maharashtra

Date:

Ahead of completing one year of office in Maharashtra, the ruling BJP in the state has claimed that the party has done a lot of work for the development of the state and that they have initiated efforts in irrigation and other sector.

Targeting Congress, the party asked if they have ever given the accountability of what it has done during its 15-year rule in the state.

Reading out a list of policy decisions taken and works done by the BJP-led dispensation, which completes one year in office tomorrow, the party’s state unit president Raosaheb Danve said that the Devendra Fadnavis government has taken steps to attract more FDIs.

Danve said that the government spent Rs 1,400 crore in the last one year and ensured storage of 24 TMC of water under the ‘Jalayukta Shivar’ water conservation programme.

“The previous Congress-NCP government had spent only Rs 7,000 crore to increase irrigation potential in the state,” Danve had claimed before reporters here yesterday.

The BJP leader said that Congress should give an account of the work done by the party when it was in power in Maharashtra between 1999 and 2014.

He said that BJP cadres have been asked to reach out to the people and inform them about the decisions taken by the Fadnavis-led administration.

“The government has distributed foodgrains to farmers in drought-prone regions. It has opened zero balance bank accounts for farmers in drought-affected areas. Ever since the BJP government has come to power in the state, the inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) has increased,” he said.

He further said that one of the major achievements of the government was accomplishing the ‘Bhoomipujan’ for the grand memorial to Dr BR Ambedkar that is coming up in the Indu Mill compound here along with the purchase of the house in London where the Dalit icon once stayed.

Responding to queries on writers and eminent persons returning their awards to the government claiming growing intolerance in the country, Danve termed it a “stage-managed” act.
