Please don’t embarrass by offering Diwali gifts: AAP ministers

Date:

New Delhi: With Diwali round the corner, Delhi ministers have appealed not to offer them gifts on the occasion.

Outside their offices, the Aam Aadmi Party ministers have pasted a hand-written appeal – “Please don’t embarrass by offering Diwali gifts, including idols of Gods”.

In order to curb corruption in various departments, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had recently asked all ministers, including his deputy Manish Sisodia, to submit their action plan to prevent corruption in their departments.

The Chief Minister’s move had come after CMS-ICS revealed that at least 45 per cent Delhiites believe that there has been a decrease in corruption in state government-controlled services, but there are some departments where corruption has been found evident.
