Seven Maoists surrender in Chhattisgarh

Date:

Seven Maoists, out of whom four had bounties on their heads, have surrendered in the Sukma district in left-wing extremism-torn Chhattisgarh.

According to police, those who surrendered claimed that they were disillusioned with the Maoist ideology. They were unhappy with the lives they had to lead, police said.

“The surrendered Maoists will be rehabilitated as per the policy of state government and necessary assistance will be provided to them,” ANI quoted the police as saying.
