How to nail the Movember look

Date:

‘Movember’ or ‘No-Shave November’ is here, and lot of men are growing out theirs moustaches and beards. Originally conceptualised to spread awareness about prostate cancer, the annual ritual is also a fashion statement for some men, who use the opportunity to see how a bead looks on them.

From corporate clean shave, to the mountain man look, a month provides ample time for men to experiment with their facial hair. However, as the month draws to a close, most shave off their beards clean and the sudden contrast between being bearded, and corporate clean the next make for some hilarious ‘before-after’ pictures.

What to do if you discover you are a ‘keeper’?

However, if midway along the month, you discover that you are a ‘keeper’ and would actually like to keep the beard, then you could do with some style, grooming, and care tips to keep the beard, and the skin underneath healthy.

Moisturize & Exfoliate

While it is a common grooming tip to keep your beard hair moisturized and healthy, one tends to forget to take care of the skin underneath. The skin underneath needs to be exfoliated to remove the dead cells and moisturize again to replenish the lost cells. This does not take time, and can be achieved by simply massaging shampoo vigorously into the beard toward the skin. The same follows for moisturizing oil.

Detangle, fluff

As the length of the beard increases, it is good to detangle it using a small comb. Using conditioner to smoothen the hair, and keep it soft, and shiny makes good sense.
