External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj provided immediate assistance to a Russian tourist, Darya Prokina who suffered severe burns in a tragic incident that happened in Varanasi on November 13.
Appreciating the move by Indian government, Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, thanked his Indian counterpart Swaraj.
“We highly appreciate your personal intervention in the fate of Russian tourist Darya Prokina who suffered acid attack in Varanasi,” Sergey Lavrov quoted in official statement.
The accused has been arrested. The victim is under treatment in Sunderlal Hospital Varanasi. We are monitoring the progress. @ravi1is20521

Acid attack on Russian girl – A senior officer of MEA met the victim in hospital today. He also spoke to the Doctors attending on her.
