The Bharatiya Janata Party Parliamentary Party met on Tuesday at around 9:30 A.M. in Parliament, to discuss the strategy for the ongoing winter session of parliament.
According to reports, the party firmed up strategies to respond effectively to the intolerance debate in the Parliament, and counter the charges of the Opposition. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to speak in Rajya Sabha today after he arrives from Paris. After the last Monsoon Session ended as a complete washout, te government has reached out to the Opposition for arriving on a consensus over the GST Bill.
Earlier, on Monday, the Opposition raised the intolerance issue in Parliament, and also questioned the government on price rise.
Tuesday is the fourth day of the ongoing Winter Session of Parliament. The first two days of the session that began on November 26 were functional as parties did not want to be seen blocking a discussion on the Constitution on the occasion of Ambedkar’s anniversary even though the opposition attacked the government over alleged rise in intolerance and communal violence.
