India were 139-6 at tea on the opening day of the fourth and final Test against South Africa in New Delhi on Thursday.
Ajinkya Rahane was on 31 while Wriddhiman Saha was dismissed for one at the stroke of tea.
Off-spinner Dane Piedt was the most successful bowler for the visitors, grabbing four wickets for 56 runs at the Feroz Shah Kotla ground.
India have already won the series, after taking an unassailable lead with decisive victories in the first and third Tests in Mohali and Nagpur. The second Test in Bangalore was washed out after the first day’s play.
