Ali Williams named as ‘advisor’ to Carter

Date:

Ex-All Black lock Ali Williams was on Monday handed a public relations role with Racing 92, notably to act as an “advisor” to the Top 14 club’s star recruit Dan Carter.

“Given his experience, the main role of the former All Blacks player will be to advise Dan Carter and help him deal with numerous requests, notably from the media, to which he’ll have to face,” Racing 92 said in a statement.

As part of his new job, Williams will also work for a company belonging to Racing president Jacky Lorenzetti, concentrating on the promotion of wine overseas.

The 34-year-old Williams, capped 77 times by New Zealand, called time on his career last season after two years at Toulon.

He played for several years in the same domineering All Blacks side as Carter, who has just arrived in France fresh from guiding New Zealand to a second successive World Cup title.
