#OddEvenLogic: Cars to ply from 8 am to 8 pm; Sundays exempted

Date:

While the Delhi government is facing the ire of the public for the Odd or Even number formula to be applicable for Delhi roads, the government on Tuesday said that the final proposal on the odd-even formula to curb the menace of ever rising pollution in the national capital would be out by December 25.

“Final proposal on odd-even formula will be out by December 25. It will be implemented from January 1, 2016, applicable from 8 am to 8 pm, exempting Sunday,” Delhi’s Transport and Rural Development Minister Gopal Rai said a press conference.

He also asserted that cars with even numbers would be allowed to ply on even dates and those with odd numbers on odd dates.

The odd-even formula was among a series of measures announced at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday after the National Green Tribunal pulled up the Delhi Government for failing to curb air pollution.
