It’s December and the year 2015 is ready to say goodbye soon. With all the ups and downs, the year has been a mixed bag of happiness and sorrows. While on hand, terror attacks jolted many parts of the world, the Grammy nominations list spread the cheer around on the other. And why not; after all music is considered to be one of the best healing therapies to soothe a boisterous mind or an aching heart.

When we are talking about music, how can we forget about our Bollywood numbers! Music directors and singers create melodious compositions and make us fall in love with the tracks.

Whether it’s a harmony by the Oscar winner AR Rahman or a peppy composition by the rocking duo Vishal-Shekhar or a chimerical song sung by Arijit Singh, this year has witnessed some of the most amazing musical numbers.

Let’s take a look at few of the smashing Bollywood hits this year:

Gerua (Dilwale)

This is perhaps one of the most talked about songs of 2015. With B Town’s most romantic onscreen pair SRK and Kajol coming together and picturesque locations of Iceland, Gerua clocked 3.5 million likes on the first day of its release.

Gulabo (Shaandaar)

This bold and sassy number from Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Shaandaar has mad its way to all the music lovers’ playlist. The song was composed by Amit Trivedi and the lyrics were penned by Anvita Dutt.

Batein Ye Kabhi Na (Khamoshiyan)

Though the film did not rock the box office, but the songs from Khamoshiyan became everyone’s favourite and this melodious track was liked by youngsters across the country. Composed by Jeet Ganguly the song was written by Sayeed Quadri and sung by Arijit Singh.

Hum Nava (Hamari Adhuri Kahani)

This slow and romantic song from Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan starrer ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’ is composed by Mithoon and sung by Papon who is known for the symphonic performances in his signature husky tone.

Sun Saathiya (ABCD 2)

A beautiful contemporary dance number as well a charming love song, this song made to the top of almost all radio top 10 charts soon after its release. Shraddha Kapoor’s meticulous dance moves made the song very popular amongst dance lovers too.

Selfie Le Le Re (Bajrangi Bhaijaan)

You cannot expect less than a rockstar performance when it is Vishal Dadlani. The eminent music composer lend his voice for this ebullient number and Badshah’s rap added the X factor to the track.

Main Hoon Hero Tera (Hero 2015)

Sung by Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan, the song became an instant hit amongst the youth. Composed by Amaal Malik, the song features debutante Athiya Shetty and Sooraj Pancholi.

Tumhe Apna Banane Ki (Hate Story 3)

This reprise version of the old ‘Tumhe Apna Banane Ki’ has been trending the charts everywhere. As opposed to a shy Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt in the original version of the song, the new version witnesses a steamy romance between Sharman Joshi and Zarine Khan.

Agar Tum Saath Ho (Tamasha)

This song became very popular within few hours of its release. Composed by AR Rahman, this one is special as Alka Yagnik made her comeback to Bollywood playback after many years with ‘Agar Tum Saath Ho’.

Tu Hai Ki Nahi (Roy)

This is yet another stellar number from Ankit Tiwari who shot to fame from his debut song ‘Sun Raha Hai Na’ from ‘Aashiqui 2’. The song became a must have for all the young lovers’ playlist.
