Hardcore left rebel activist, gangster held

A self-styled Zonal Commander of ultra outfit ‘Trutiya Prastuti Committee’ (TPC) was on Thursday arrested along with an active member of the slain gangster Sushil Srivastav gang in the district.

TPC leader Prabhatji alias Babulal Turi alias Shankar, who was active in Ramgarh, Ranchi, Latehar and Dhanbad, was held in Ramgarh along with Aman Sahu, who was an active member of Srivastav gang, and an unregistered SUV recovered from the spot, Superintendent of Police M Tamilvanan said.

Babulal Turi alias Prabhatji, who was presented before the media, is a resident of Latehar district and have been visiting state capital and Ramgarh town for shopping, the SP said, adding that six debit cards, cheque book and pass book of a private bank were recovered from their possession.

Police recovered two 9mm pistols, 15 rounds cartridge, 17 mobile phones, SIM cards, fake voter identity cards and PAN cards and Rs 40,500 cash from the duo, he said.

A total of 12 cases were registered against him in Ramgarh and Dhanbad police stations related to firing for collection of extortion money from industrialists, contractors and businessmen of Ramgarh and Dhanbad.

Tamilvanan said Aman Sahu is an active member of slain gangster Shrivastav who came contact with Prabhatji and started working for Maoist splinter group TPC in Ranchi, Ramgarh, Latehar, Tandva, Khalari and Dhanbad.

The duo had produced fake voter identity cards with original hologram on fake names for purchasing mobile phone sim cards as they used to replace sim card regularly to hide their identity from police.
