Deepika Karmakar missed medal at Rio today as she stood 4th in point table of vault final. On the eve of India’s 70th Independence Day, Deepika Karmakar beautifully performed the “death vault” but failed to bring first Olympic medal home. She missed the medal with very little margin as she scored points 15.066 in the final vault.
India’s whisker number four curse continues as Deepika Karmakar secured fourth place in Rio Olympics after Milkha Singh, Rome, 1960 and P T Usha, LA, 1984.
