Hoax call about bomb in Red Fort

New Delhi, Aug 16 (PTI) A day after Independence Day, aphone call of a bomb planted at Red Fort sent the police andsecurity agencies in a tizzy who searched the premisesthoroughly today. The phone call of a bomb kept at Lal Qila (Red Fort) wasreceived by police control room at around 4.15 pm. Teams ofDelhi Police and security agencies rushed to the spot andsearched the premises for the bomb, a senior police officer. After search, nothing was found and the call was found tobe a hoax at around 8 pm. The caller, who was reportedlymentally unstable was identified as a resident of north eastDelhi, he said. The Rajghat was also sanitised by the police as aprecautionary measure, the officer said. However, no specific call about any explosives at Rajghatwas received but the step was taken as a precautionarymeasure, he added. PTI VIT BUNRG
