3 boys drown in pond in Madhya Pradesh

Shivpuri (MP) Aug 17 (PTI) Three school boys todaydrowned in Anand Sagar pond in Karera town in the districtwhen they had gone to take a bath, police said. The boys, all above 16-years of age were studying in aprivate school in Karera and they bunked school to takea bath in the pond, they said. While bathing, one of them identified as Kapil Dubewent into deep waters and got trapped there. He raised analarm and then in order to save their friend, both AmitabhSharma and Anuj Tiwari also jumped towards him and in theprocess all three of them drowned, Karera’s Sub DivisionalOfficer of Police (SDOP) CBS Raghuwanshi said. Anuj’s school bag was found in the vicinity of thepond, the officer said. An eyewitness saw them drowning following which heraised an alarm and informed police. Later, police reached thespot and their bodies were fished out from the water body andsent for autopsy, the SDOP said, adding investigations areunderway. PTI COR MAS NRB IKABAS
