Girl commits self immolation after being denied school fees

Jaipur, Aug 18 (PTI) An 18-year-old girl allegedlycommitted self immolation after her father refused to give herschool fees in Udaipur district of Rajasthan. Shilpa Kumar, a class 12th student, was upset with herfather who had refused to give school fees. In a fit of rage,she poured kerosene and set herself ablaze yesterday,Investigating officer Shahzad Ali said. "She was rushed to a primary health center in Rishabhdevfrom where she was referred to MB hospital in Udaipur whereshe died late last night," he said. The body has been shifted to the mortuary and will behanded over to family members after postmortem today. PTI SDA RT
