ICICI goes live with banking transaction product on mobiles

Mumbai, Aug 18 (PTI) Private lender ICICI Bank today wentlive with a product that was showcased first at a start-upcompetition which allows customers to do banking transactionwhile using other application on mobile phones. Customers can transfer money, pay bills and recharge fromwithin any application or browser using smartphone keyboardwhich will reduce transaction time, the bank said in astatement today. The bank claimed that it is the first lender in Asia tooffer such a product under the label of ‘iMobile SmartKeys’,which has been developed by one of the winners at the ICICIAppathon, its mobile app development challenge organisedearlier this year, it said. The product has been introduced to customers withinthree months of the competition. "We are delighted to introduce this product which is atestimony to our continuing co-creation initiatives withinnovative technopreneurs," Group Executive and ChiefTechnology and Digital Officer B Madhivanan said. He further said the bank will continue to rely on thismodel of "co-creating with quality start-ups and technologycompanies" for introducing innovative services.
