Rajnath reviews Kashmir situation

New Delhi, Aug 18 (PTI) Union Home Minister Rajnath Singhtoday reviewed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir asthe unrest in Kashmir Valley continues unabated for more thanone month. During the hour-long meeting, the Home Minister tookstock of the situation in the state along with DefenceMinister Manohar Parrikar, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley andNational Security Advisor Ajit Doval. Senior security officials briefed the top Ministers theprevailing situation in the Kashmir Valley and steps taken torestore peace, sources said. The Ministers also reviewed various aspects in theimplementation of Rs 80,000 crore package announced by theCentral government for Jammu and Kashmir in November lastyear. Kashmir Valley has been witnessing unrest after thekilling of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani more than amonth ago. As many as 64 people including two police personnel havebeen killed and several thousand injured in the clashes thatbegan on July 9. PTI ACBRG
