Kolkata, Aug 20 (PTI) Director Goutam Ghosh’s Nationalaward-winning film "Sankhachil", an Indo-Bangla jointproduction, has been selected for the coveted 40th MontrealWorld Film Festival. "Sankhachil", starring Prosenjit Chatterjee, essays thepain and anguish of people living on both sides of the borderfollowing the partition of Bengal. Confirming the news, Ghosh today said he was sure"Sankhachil" would be liked by the international audience forits universal language. Chatterjee, who has also co-produced the movie, said, "Theflight of our bird Sankhachil has started and will continue." "Sankhachil" is an Indo-Bangla production. Apart from ‘Sankhachil’, Rajko Grlic’s "The Constitution"(Croatia – Czech Republic) Dani Kouyate’s "While We Live"(Sweden), Alberto Morais "The Mother" (Spain- France–Romania), Mohammad Rahmanian’s "Bench Cinema" (Iran), MarcoSegato’s – ‘The Bear Skin’ (Italy) Dai Ssijie’s "The NightPeacock" (Chine – France) are among the other contenders inworld competition section.
