Centre committed to spread ideals of freedom fighters: Goyal

Burdwan (WB), Aug 21 (PTI) Union minister Piyush Goyaltoday said the Modi government at the Centre was committedtowards spreading the ideals of freedom fighters among thepresent generation. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for spreading theideals of freedom fighters, who had liberated the nation 70years ago, among the present generation. As part of thecampaign, we are visiting the birth places of freedom fightersacross the country," Goel said after visiting the birth placeof Rash Behari Bose at Subaldaha village in Burdwan district. Paying rich tributes to the revolutionary, Goel said thegovernment will preserve his memory and build a marble plaqueif land was made available. He also went around the ruins of the freedom fighter’sbirth place spread over several acres of land and spoke tovillagers who demanded that it be developed as a heritage spotand be properly maintained.
