Hyderabad, Aug 22 (PTI) Telangana CID, which is probingthe EAMCET-II question paper leak case, today arrested twomore brokers and recovered over Rs 7 lakh from them. With this, the total number of arrests in connectionwith the case so far has gone up to 19. "In the TS EAMCET-II-2016 (Medical) question paperleakage case, today two brokers — Kolli Rajesh Kumar aliasRajesh, a native of Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh andChintapalli Janaiah alias Johnson, a native of Nalgondadistrict in Telangana — were arrested and Rs 7.10 lakh wasrecovered from them," CID Inspector General of Police SoumyaMishra said in a release. Rajesh Kumar and Janaiah run consultancy office ‘SreshtaExperts’ at Dilsukhnagar here and they had secured ninestudents from various places in Telangana and AP states. Rajesh handed over five students to one Rupesh of Delhifor Cuttack camp and Janaiah took the remaining four toBengaluru camp for preparation of EAMCET-II leaked questionpaper, the CID officer said. Efforts are on to apprehend the other brokers andkingpins of the case, she said. On July 25, the CID had registered a case under relevantsections of IPC and other provisions of the AndhraPradesh Public Examinations (Prevention of Malpractices andUnfair means) Act, 1997, after it found in its preliminaryinquiry there was prima facie a case for registering anFIR. Probe also revealed that students appearing for TSEAMCET-II-2016 (Medical) examination from Telangana and AndhraPradesh were taken to camps set up in at least five citiesabout two to three days prior to the exam and were givenpractice with the leaked copies of two question papersconsisting of 320 questions with correct answers, the CID hadearlier said. At a review meeting held here on August 2, ChiefMinister K Chandrasekhar Rao was informed by CID officialsthat Delhi turned out to be the centre for leak and there were34 brokers, who conspired to sell the paper and as many as 200parents were in touch with the brokers to buy the questionpapers. The Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common EntranceTest (EAMCET-II) was conducted on July 9 and the results weredeclared on July 14.
