Pandit body blames Centre, state for death of community member

Jammu, Aug 22 (PTI) The All Party Migrant CoordinationCommittee (APMCC) of Kashmiri Pandits today accused the Jammuand Kashmir government as well as the Centre of ignoring theirplight and "blamed" them for the death of a protesting memberof the community. "The state and the Centre are ignoring our plight. A youngemployee from the community, Rakesh Kumar, has fallen victimto this callous attitude. He could not get timely medicalattention after suffering a heart attack as he was not paidhis salary," APMCC national spokesman King Bharti said here. He said the incident has shocked the entire community andbrought to the fore the "callous" attitude of the state andthe Centre who are not addressing the problems of theagitating Kashmiri Pandits who were employed in the Valley andnot releasing their salaries for the last two months. Bharti said it was shocking that despite the tragedy, thegovernments are "refusing to wake up" and address the issuesraised by them. PTI TSS AB RC RGRC
