Rain lashes Erode, affects normal life

Erode (TN) Aug 22 (PTI) Heavy rain accompanied by galetoday affected vehicular traffic and threw normal life out ofgear in the town. Following the rains, there was water-logging atseveral places including the Municipal Corporation DailyVegetable market, where rain water had entered more than 200shops causing damage to nearly 50 percent of the vegetablesthat were stored, vendors said. Business at the weekly textile shandy was also hit. Traffic on the Kollampalayam-Railway colony junction,was affected for more than three hours due to waterstagnation. Advertisement hoardings placed at Paneerselvam parkjunction and the bus terminus were damaged under the impact ofthe gale. PTI COR ROHROH
