School students protest outside AAP office over transfer of

principal New Delhi, Aug 22 (PTI) Students of Delhi government runSarvodaya Bal Vidyalala today staged protest outside the AamAadmi Party office here over "abrupt" transfer of their schoolprincipal. Students, donning school uniform, and their parents weresitting outside the party office said they were protestingbecause principal Rajeshwari Kapri was shunted out at a timewhen she was doing a good job. Altamash Khan, a student of Class XII, said ever sincethe principal joined the school, she brought major changes inthe school, which were yielding positive results. "She encouraged us to participate in sport and culturalactivities and give our best to it, but on the other hand, shealso ensured that we don’t let our studies hamper because ofit. "We don’t want her to be transferred," added Hyder Ali,another student of the school, who was staging a dharna alongwith Class XII. Another student Khsitij of Class X said the student wereupset because the the principal was shunted out despite her"good work". "She had not even completed two years," Kshitij claimed. Students also alleged that her transfer order came onAugust 20 and she was asked to report to her new assignment onAugust 22, which is today. "Girls can only study up to Class V in this (SBV, RouseAvenue) school. The principal was also working to have girlseducation till Class XII," said Rehana Khan, who claimed thatshe was a mother of one Mohammad Bilal, a student of ClassXII. Other parents were also seen gathering outside the partyoffice. However, when asked why were they not protesting outsidethe residence of Education Minister Manish Sisodia or theDirectorate of Education, they were unable to given anyanswer. When contacted the Directorate of Education of the Delhigovernment refused to comment. PTI PR GJSRG
