Laxman unveils finisher’s medals for Airtel Hyderabad Marathon

Hyderabad, Aug 24 (PTI) The Hyderabad Runners Societyand Bharti Airtel together with Telangana government todayunveiled the specially designed finisher’s medals andcorporate trophy for the 6th edition of the Airtel HyderabadMarathon. Former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman unveiled thefinishers’ medals and corporate trophy. The corporate trophy for the largest corporateparticipant has been commissioned to encourage runners fromlarge corporates and build awareness on promoting healthylifestyles with running. All winners and finishers of the 4categories of the Run (5K, 10K, Half Marathon (21.095 km) andFull Marathon (42.195 km) will get designer medals, MuraliNannapaneni, Race Director said. The 2016 edition of this annual sporting event will beheld on August 27 and 28 with 16,000 active participants. The Airtel Hyderabad Marathon has encouragedparticipation by the State Police, Paramilitary police and theArmed Forces in the event, Bharti Airtel Andhra Pradesh andTelangana Chief Executive Officer Venkatesh Vijayraghavansaid. Phil Maffetone, a key proponent on health, lifestyleand fitness has been appointed as event ambassador for themarathon. PTI VVKNRB
