Two newborns die at govt health center, relatives protest

Muzaffarnagar, Aug 24 (PTI) Two newborns died at agovernment primary health center here in Shahpur, triggeringprotest by family members who alleged negligence by healthstaff. Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Subodh Kumar said the babiesdied soon after delivery late yesterday night. An inquiry report has been sought into the deaths whiletwo health center staffs, Dolly and Raman, have beensuspended, he said. The CMO said, Shabnam, wife of Mursaleem, and Billo,wife  of Khursheed, were admitted to the health centre aroundthe same time yesterday. The inquiry will reveal the cause of death, he said,adding that relatives misbehaved with staff following theincident. PTI CORR ANB DVARK
