HC breather for suspended police inspector

Cuttack, Aug 25 (PTI) The Orissa High Court today grantedinterim protection from arrest to a suspended police officeraccused of being involved in illegal trade in Hanuman coins. Justice Shatrughna Pujahari directed Balasore police notto arrest inspector Surendra Nayak till further orders andadjourned the hearing on his anticipatory bail applicationtill the submission of the case diary. Nayak was allegedly involved in a racket dealing withillegal trade in ‘Hanuman coins’ and was summoned by theMalkangiri district police. Nayak was admitted to the Balasore district hospital fromwhere he left against medical advice. Subsequently, theBalasore SP held back his pay and the state DGP placed himunder suspension for unauthorised absence from duty. PTI CORAAM NNSK
