Draft roll for local body polls to be released on Sep 1

Coimbatore, Aug 26 (PTI) The draft electoral roll for theupcoming local body polls in Tamil Nadu will be released onSeptember 1, State Election Commissioner P Seetharaman saidtoday. Preliminary works such as identifying the booths,ascertaining the number of electronic voting machines (EVMs)required etc. have been completed, Seetharaman, who was herefor a review meeting on the preparedness for the polls, toldreporters. Security arrangements would be put in place for the smoothconduct of the polls and extra forces would be deployed at thesensitive booths, he added.
