Meghalaya: Two Cabinet ministers administered oath of office

Shillong, Aug 26 (PTI) Governor V Shanmuganathan todayadministered oath of office and secrecy to two newly-inductedministers, Ronnie V Lyngdoh and Martin M Danggo at the RajBhavan here. The two Cabinet ministers were inducted into theCongress-led Meghalaya United Alliance (MUA)–II governmentafter Rowell Lyngdoh and A L Hek were dropped as deputy chiefminister and health minister respectively. Speaking to the media after the swearing-in ceremony,Danggo said though he was yet to be alloted a portfolio by theChief Minister, he would work hard for the development of thestate. Danggo said he would try his best for improvement ofroads, education and health, which are vital for the state. Ronnie V Lyngdoh said he would commit himself for thedevelopment of the state. "No department is a small department. All the departmentsare important for the development of the state," Lyngdoh said,adding the Chief Minister has given emphasis on improvement ofsericulture department. He said sericulture department could provide a lot ofemployment opportunities and thus improve the economy of thestate. The swearing-in ceremony which lasted for about 10minutes saw the presence of Meghalaya Pradesh CongressCommittee (MPCC) president and state legislator D D Lapang,state Home Minister Roshan Warjri and a couple of other MLAs.PTI JOP FK MMTIR
