Security guard killed in failed robbery attempt 

Faizabad, Aug 24 (PTI): A security guard who wasaccompanying a van carrying Rs 40 lakh cash of a toll plazawas shot dead when he tried to challenge a gang of robbers intheir bid to loot the money. Rajaram, 40, was travelling in the van this morning whenthe robbers opened fire near Kotsarai area. "The robbers were chasing the van in an SUV. At Kotsaraiarea, they overtook the van and opened fire," said SSP MohitGupta, adding Rajaram was shot dead when he tried to challengethem. “The cash is safe and has been deposited in the bank underpolice protection. A massive hunt has been launched in all theadjoining districts,” added Gupta. PTI CORR SG ZMNSG
