Three held for pouring kerosene on girl

New Delhi, Aug 28 (PTI) Three persons were arrested todayfor allegedly pouring kerosene on a 20-year-old girl when sheresisted their advances in northwest Delhi’s Bhalswa Dairyarea, police said. Abhishek, his uncle Vijay, and one of their friendsallegedly poured kerosene on the girl yesterday. She sustainedsevere burns and is stated to be in a critical condition atSafdarjung Hospital, they said. The accused, along with their friends used to "harass"the girl, who happens to be a resident of Mukundpur area innorthwest Delhi, a senior officer said. Initially, the girl ignored them but when the stalkingcontinued, she complained to her family. Her brother threatened the accused who came to attack thegirl’s family yesterday. In the scuffle that ensued, the girl’s brother alsosustained head injuries and has been hospitalised, policesaid. PTI SLBIKA
