Tigmanshu declines Ukd Film Development Council vice-prez post

Dehradun, Aug 28 (PTI) Noted filmmaker Tingmanshu Dhuliahas declined to accept the post of vice-president inUttarakhand Film Development Council. In a letter sent to the state government, he stated thatdue to a sensitive situation in the state and in view of awrong implication drawn over his appointment, it is hard forhim to accept the offer. "I request the state government to cancel my appointmentas vice-president of Uttarakhand Film Development Council," hesaid in the letter. However, he thanked the state government for finding himworthy of the position and said he would continue to promoteand assist the hill state even without any official position. The film director, who hails from Uttarakhand madeheadlines after his movie- Paan Singh Tomar got National FilmAward in 2012. Notably, Chief Minister Harish Rawat was appointedpresident of Uttarakhand Film Development Council yesterdayand Tigmanshu Dhulia and Hemant Pandey as vice-chairmen.
