10 kg gold, worth Rs 3 cr, looted from Jalandhar

Jalandhar, Aug 29 (PTI) Ten kg of gold, worth Rs 3 crorein the international market, was looted by six bike-borne menfrom the office of a company sanctioning gold loans here,police said. One of the gang members posed as a customer and rang thedoorbell of the office at Ramamandi area and as the securityguard approached, asked him to open the main gate, they said. As the guard opened the gate, all the gang members bargedin, held him at gunpoint and asked for the key to the lockerroom, police said. The miscreants made off with 10 kg gold, with an estimatedmarket value of Rs three crore, police said. Footage obtained from a CCTV camera installed outside theoffice was being analysed, police said, adding that they wouldhave a clear picture once they collected the images capturedby the camera inside the office. No arrest has been made in connection with the incident,police said, adding that sketches of four persons have beenreleased by them. PTI SRTRC
