New Delhi, Sept 2 (PTI) In the backdrop of an inquiryagainst Robert Vadra, Congress today targeted Prime MinisterNarendra Modi, alleging that since he has taken office hisdetractors have become victims of political vendetta. "Take the case of Shankersinh Vaghela or Virbhadra Singh.The Himachal Pradesh chief minister was raided when he wasmarrying off his daughter. "You cannot say that vindictive attitude is not theresince he has become the Prime Minister," the party’s seniorspokesman Ajay Maken told reporters here. The Congress leader also claimed that as many as sevenIPS officers from Gujarat have been brought to CBI since Modibecame the Prime Minister. Maken’s response came when asked about the Prime Ministerrejecting allegations of vendetta and insisted that there areno instructions from his government for conducting probeagainst any political party or dynasty. Modi told CNN-News 18, "I have been the chief minister ofa state (Gujarat) for 14 years. The history is witness to itthat I have never opened any file because of politicalreasons. "There has been no such allegation against me. It has beenover two-and-a-half years here (in government at the Centre).There is no instruction from the government to open any file,"he said. He was responding to questions that the government wasallegedly targeting political dynasties, an apparent referenceto the Sonia Gandhi family.
