Thane jail official gets interim bail in molestation case

Thane, Sep 3 (PTI) The district court here today grantedinterim bail to Thane District Jail Superintendent HiralalJadhav, accused of molestation by a lady police constable. Jadhav has moved the court seeking a pre-arrest bail. District judge M M Walimohammad today granted himinterim bail upto September 9, when the prosecution will fileits reply. Pending the inquiry, the state Government yesterdaysuspended Jadhav. Thane police registered a case of molestation undersection 354 of IPC against Jadhav on August 31. Advocate Anil Navle, Jadhav’s lawyer, argued that theoffence was bailable. He also contended that there was no caseof sexual harassment, as reported by the media.
