ADM raids liquor shop standing in queue

Mathura (UP), Sep 4 (PTI) Disguised as a customer,Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Ravindra Kumar queuedoutside a liquor shop in civil lines area here and caught theshopkeeper for over charging. Acting on customers’ complaints against the shop, Kumaryesterday conducted the surprise raid and temporarilysuspended its licence after finding irregularities in theprices charged there. "The shopkeeper asked me to pay Rs 390 for a quarter sizebottle against the prescribed rate of Rs 385," he said, addingthe licence of the shop has been temporarily suspended. Meanwhile, the District Excise Officer said "a fine of Rs5000 will be slapped on him if his explanation is foundunsatisfactory". PTI CORR FAR ZMNCHT
