Vinayaka Chaturthi celebrated with religious fervour in Pondy

Puducherry, Sept 5 (PTI) Vinayaka Chaturthi was celebratedin Puducherry with traditional zeal and religious fervourtoday. People thronged the premises of the more than 350-year-oldManakula Vinayakar temple in the heart of the town from earlymorning to offer worship to deities in the temple. Chief Minister of Puducherry V Narayanasamy and TamilNadu Industries Minister M C Sampath were among those whoworshipped at the temple. Special abishegams were performed to the presiding deity.Police were deployed in strength to regulate the crowd. Clay models of Lord Ganesh were selling like hot cakes atvarious points. PTI CORBN
