Telangana govt impartial in SIT probe against Nayeem: Reddy

Karimnagar(Tel), Sept 6 (PTI) Telangana Government willbe impartial during the probe being conducted by SIT intocrimes committed by slain Maoist-turned-gangster Nayeemuddin,state Home Minister N Narasimha Reddy said today. "The Special Investigation Team is probing the crimescommitted by Nayeem….Telangana Government will actimpartially," Reddy told reporters at Ramagundam in thisdistrict. Nayeemuddin alias Nayeem alias Balanna (45), wanted ina string of cases including murder of an IPS officer, waskilled in an exchange of fire with police in Shadnagar town inMahabubnagar district on August 8. He had formed a criminal gang and was allegedly involvedin land grabbings, extortion and kidnapping. Reddy said necessary action will be taken againstthose who had supported Nayeem. So far, 62 cases were registered against Nayeem andhis gang members in Telangana. The SIT had so far arrestedover 50 people in connection with the cases pertaining toNayeem, on charges of extortion, kidnapping, etc. Referring to suicide by a police sub-inspector inMedak district, the minister said special counsellingprogrammes have been arranged for the police personnel inorder to de-stress them. Responding to a query, he said formation of newdistricts has been taken up by government on popular demand.PTI CORR NSKRGJMF
