375 cartons of smuggled liquor seized

Muzaffarnagar (UP), Sep 9 (PTI) In a major haul, 375cartons of smuggled liquor worth Rs 12 lakh were today seizedfrom a mini-truck in Kharar area here, police said. A team of district excise department intercepted thevehicle as a part of a drive and seized the cartons, theysaid. The driver Baljit Singh, a resident of Haryana, has beenarrested, they said, adding another accused Anil managed toescape. The vehicle had a fake number plate of Arunachal Pradeshon it, they said.
