Love stories are not my comfort zone: Sidharth

By Shrishti Negi New Delhi, Sep 9 (PTI) He may have gained popularity withhis lover boy image but actor Sidharth Malhotra does notbelieve that love stories are his comfort zone. The 31-year-old star, who will next be seen in a romanticdrama "Baar Baar Dekho", says for him it is more about thestory than how easily he can play his part. "Love stories are not my comfort zone. I have only donetwo of them. I have also done one action film. I haven’t foundmy comfort zone. It’s more about stories for me. If I have anew story to tell and to be a part of, I would do that,"Sidharth told PTI in an interview. "Like ‘Kapoor & Sons’, it was a family drama done in a newway. Similarly, I’ve done ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ which is again veryunique with a concept of time. Trying something new is mycomfort zone." Sidharth, who made his Bollywood debut with Karan Johar’s"Student of The Year", is often called Dharma production’sblue-eyed boy. When asked about it, he said, "There is no pressure.Dharma is one of the best production houses. "At the most Dharma has co-produced my films. But peoplewill not understand that technicality which is fine and I feelhappy that I have got this chance as people are dying to workwith them." The actor also revealed that he has a huge crush on his"Baar Baar Dekho" co-star, Katrina, saying working with her inthe movie was a dream come true. "Our chemistry is very good in the film because once youwork with a girl that you have a crush on and you are actuallydoing a romantic film with her so all your fantasies come truein some way as you could say romantic lines to her, dance withher and that is what exactly happened. "I also got to learn a lot from her as being at thisposition and the kind of experience she has, she never takes itfor granted. She is really hard working as she starts from zeroin every scene and every project. It’s a very committed qualitythat she has," he said. Talking about his film’s director Nitya Mehra, he said,"She has a strong and solid energy on the set and once peoplesee the film they won’t feel like it’s her first. She wasfocused and the captain of the ship." The film, which released today, revolves around Jai(Sidharth), a commitment phobic guy, who wants to do big in hislife, whereas his girlfriend Diya (Katrina) is totally oppositemore lively and fun-loving and gives priority to relationships. When asked what he personally thinks of the concept,Sidharth said, "You can have a great balance in life if youhave a good partner, who can support you. You can manage both agreat professional life as well as a good personal life but itdepends on what phase you are in." PTI SSNBK
