Bihar govt transfers 9 IAS officers, including K K Pathak

Patna, Sep 11 (PTI) Bihar government today transferrednine IAS officers, including Excise and ProhibitionDepartment’s Principal Secretary K K Pathak, who has gone onlong leave reportedly in protest against the arrest of anofficial of his department who acted against a block-levelJD(U) leader. Home Department’s Principal Secretary Amir Subhani hasbeen given additional charge of Registration, Excise andProhibition Department, a notification issued by the GeneralAdministration Department said. Pathak has been transferred, but kept in waiting forposting till further orders, it said. Pathak had expressed his displeasure over the arrest ofhis department’s sub-inspector for taking action againstChandradeep Sen alias Moti Singh, the Harnaut block presidentof JD(U), from whose house liquor was seized on August 30, andhad asked the state government to find his replacement. A 1990-batch IAS officer, Pathak was a key man inenforcing total prohibition in the state since April. As per the notification, Education department’s PrincipalSecretary Dharmendra Singh Gangwar has been made PrincipalSecretary of General Administration Department.
