"For the first time in history, the opposition has forcedthe government walk out of the House," Amarinder claimed whilejustifying the protest by his party colleagues. "You may run away from the Assembly, but how long can yourun away from the people? We are going to drag you to thepeople’s court," he said and declared that the protests willnow spread to the entire state and the "final battle" will befought "by the ballot". At Patiala, the Punjab Congress chief also lashed out atthe chief minister for "trying to shed crocodile tears" bycoming to meet the protesting legislators and asking them towithdraw the ‘dharna’ when he should have intervened andfacilitated the discussion on the no-confidence motionyesterday itself. "This is too little and too late and Badal is trying toshed crocodile tears in his characteristic manner," Amarindersaid, adding that if the chief minister was really sincere,he, as the Leader of the House, should not have allowed thissituation to emerge in the first place. "The fight has just started and we will take it to itslogical conclusion," he announced, while reiterating that theprotests will now move out of the Assembly and reach "everynook and corner" of the state. He pointed out that Congress workers had already launcheda "massive offensive" against the Punjab government all overthe state as protest demonstrations were being held at everydistrict and block and effigies of the state government werebeing burnt.
