1 killed in B’desh chopper crash

Dhaka, Sep 16 (PTI) One person was killed and four otherswere injured today when a private helicopter crashed, after itdropped ace Bangladeshi crickter Shakib Al Hasan and his wife. Shakib, 29, and his wife flew to Tulip Sea Pearl BeachResort, in Cox Bazar for a television commercial shoot whenthe helicopter that took them there crashed while it was onits return journey. 32-year-old Shah Alam working as an accountant at OgilvyBangladesh, an advertising and brand communications agencydied in the crash. The Robinson R66 helicopter on its return journey tookoff with five passengers, including the pilot, and crashedaround 10.30 AM in Redu Khal area near Inani sea beach. Oneperson was killed and four others injured in the accident, TheDaily Star reported. "I am fine, but feel rather shocked at the news of thechopper crash," Shakib said. The pilot neither informed the airport authorities norasked for permission for landing, said Cox’s Bazar AirportManager Sadhon Kumar Mohanto. "We don’t know the details of the accident," he added. The cause of the accident is yet unknown. In 2015, Shakib became the first and only cricketer inhistory to be ranked the No.1 all-rounder by ICC in its PlayerRankings in all three formats of the game. PTI AMS AKJAMS
